Breakfast in bed

After the pooches had been walked and fed, I went through the apartment tidying and Billy-proofing. I made the bed and did the dishes then started a walk-around/ pick-up, only to discover THIS going on in the front room....

Sigh.

Sometimes I feel a bit overwhelmed by all the behaviors we've got to work on, and he's definitely discovering fun new habits at a much quicker rate than I'm training out the old ones! In my last house the bedroom had a door so Billy was only allowed in there when I invited him up the stairs to join me. Now that everything is so open plan, I'm really not so keen on the fact that the dogs are able to make themselves at home on the bed all day. Especially as they're not squeamish about chomping on nylabones or deer antler while they're at it. I didn't quite anticipate that when I initially started letting Bilbo on the bed at night. Nor, when I bought my couch, had I expected to have Buster at my house and he slobbers like you wouldn't believe.

I'm not sure quite where to start with this one. But in the meantime, thanks to one of my friends making an Ikea trip last week, I have 3 sets of bedding so I can easily switch it out every few days!

  1. I totally know how you feel, every time Maisie is well-behaved for a while I get lulled into a false sense of security and BAM! she does something horrible (like eat a shoe or rip the couch or pee in my friend's bed when he is kind enough to let me bring her over). just now, she totally snapped at a sweet little dog on my block who has been one of her few on-leash friends up to this point. *sigh*
